As you may know, we’ve been busy infusing all kinds of oils around here from lavender infused oil to rosemary oil. We just love doing it! If you are not yet familiar with the process of infusing, it’s simply the process of taking dried herbs and mixing them with a carrier oil—like jojoba, avocado, olive, or almond oil—heating. After a certain period has passed, you then strain it to create an “infused” oil packed with benefits. Of course, we wanted to do it all again, but this time, we used chamomile.

Chamomile infused oil blends the soothing properties of chamomile with nourishing avocado oil, resulting in a vitamin-rich, antioxidant-filled oil that’s perfect for your self-care routine. Chamomile is known as a popular remedy for soothing ailments like fevers, inflammation, nausea, and skin conditions. Here’s how you can make it at home!

  • It’s great for the skin. Rub it into the skin as a moisturizer or use it to soothe sore areas.
  • Incorporate into your bath routine. Just add a few drops to a bathtub.
  • Lastly, you can use your chamomile oil to make lotions, salves, or balms.

What is the best oil when making chamomile infused oil?

Practically, any oil will work when making chamomile oil. However, depending on your intended purposes, you might want to select the appropriate oil. For example, for culinary purposes like cooking or baking, choose an edible oil, like olive oil or vegetable oil. Conversely, grapeseed, avocado, olive or jojoba oil works best if you intend to apply chamomile oil solely on your skin. We opted to use avocado oil because it quite nourishing.
