The holiday season has arrived! It’s such a fun time of year and the best time to gather with friends and family and show of your baking skills. We’ve gotten a bit creative this year and created this cute little Christmas Gnome Brioche Bun. You are going to love making it especially how easy it is to make.
This brioche bun is in the shape of a cute gnome. This fun pastry is delicious! But it will probably make your loved one’s smile, and the kids will be delighted with him.
Here’s a quick guide on how to make it.
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup of 10% cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 tbsp. yeast
- 1 3/4 oz. butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 drops red food coloring
- 1 tbsp. pearl sugar
Instruction on Christmas Gnome Sweet Bread
- Mix room temperature milk with salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Wait for bubbles to appear on the surface.
- Beat in the egg. Stir with a whisk, then pour in half cup of flour.
- Knead the dough, adding the flour a little at a time with a spatula. Then transfer the dough to a board and knead with your hands.
- Knead the dough on the board and spread the soft butter on half of the flatbread. Cover the butter with the loose half of the flatbread and knead the butter into the dough. Round the dough and place in a bowl to rise. cover with food wrap and leave for 1-1/2 hours. The dough should double in volume.
- Form a gnome on parchment paper. Color 1/3 of the dough red. Roll out 2 small balls of white and red. From the red dough form a cone from the white just roll into a rectangle. Form the base of the gnome.
- Add a beard and a hat brim, a balloon nose and a pompon. Sprinkle the gnome with pearl sugar.
- Transfer the pastry to a baking tray and bake in a 374 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Place the gnome bun on a serving board.
Serve this brioche with a hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
