Chickweed salve is a gentle remedy perfect for soothing and nourishing the skin. Made from the chickweed plant (which is often considered a weed), this salve is packed with natural vitamins, minerals, and skin-calming properties.
It’s super easy to make, just like our Garlic Salve, Chamomile Salve, and Jewelweed Salve. It is completely natural and perfect for anyone looking to add a little old-fashioned herbal care to their home remedies.
Here’s a guide on how to make it at home.

This makes about 6 ounces.
What Chickweed Salve Is Good For
- Dry, itchy, or irritated skin: Gently soothes and cools minor rashes, dryness, and redness.
- Eczema and psoriasis relief: Its natural anti-inflammatory compounds help calm flare-ups.
- Bug bites and stings: Provides quick comfort and reduces itchiness.
- Minor burns and scrapes: Promotes healing and helps prevent infection.
- Rough or cracked skin: Softens and hydrates areas like elbows, knees, and heels.
Ingredients
- Chickweed Dry Herb
- Carrier oil (Any carrier oil will work. I used olive oil for this recipe)
- 1 cup infused oil
- ¼ cup beeswax Pellets
- 2 oz containers
- Optional: 20 drops of essential oils

Instructions
- Add chickweed to a jar, filling it halfway.
- Pour the carrier oil on top to completely cover the herb. Let it infuse for a few weeks, shaking occasionally. Then strain.

- Add infused oil and
beeswax to a glass jar and melt slowly in the microwave until all is melted. Be sure to mix thoroughly after every 30-second interval.

- Once melted, let it cool slightly before adding your essential oils.

- Add to your containers and let them harden overnight before putting the lid on.
