Ingredients

  • Refined shea butter (find it here)
  • Dried Jasmine Flowers (find it here)
  • Almond Oil – (find it here)
  • Jasmine essential oil (find it here)
  • Measuring cup- glass
  • 8-ounce mason jar
  • Pot (to speed up the infusion process)
  • Cheesecloth or strainer (for straining the flowers from the oil)
  • Spoon to mix together

How to Make Shea Body Butter with Jasmine

Step 1 – Infusing Almond Oil with Jasmine Flowers

To infuse the almond oil with jasmine flowers, place the almond oil and flowers in a small mason jar or other airtight container and let it sit for at least a week, shaking daily.

If you prefer to speed up the process, you can follow these steps:

  • Measure ¼ cup of almond oil into a measuring cup.
  • Add about three tablespoons of dried jasmine flowers or a small handful.
  • Place the mason jar in a pot with water covering about an inch of its bottom.
  • Infuse the oil on low heat for about an hour. Let it cool completely.

Step 2: Strain the Flowers

Once the oil is infused, strain the flowers from the oil using a strainer or cheesecloth over the jar’s top.

Step 3: Melt the Shea Butter

Add ½ a cup of refined shea butter in a measuring cup. Microwave it in 30-second intervals, checking each time until it is fully melted.

Step 4: Mixing all Ingredients

Pour the melted shea butter into the infused oil mixture. Add approximately 30 drops of jasmine essential oil. Then, stir the mixture thoroughly.

Step 5: Let it Cool

Cover the mason jar and place it in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

After chilling, the body butter is ready to use. You can now enjoy your homemade shea body butter!

How to Store Shea Body Butter

Store it in an airtight container at room temperature in a dark area like the bathroom cupboard or medicine cabinet. Refrigeration is not necessary after chilling.

How long will this body butter last?

This product can last up to 4 months.
