Step by Step Guide on How to Make a Scone
- Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Whisk until the dry ingredients are combined.
- Add in the cubed butter and use clean hands to squeeze the butter and dry ingredients together to create a crumbly mixture.
- Mix in the poppy seeds.
- Add in the egg, lemon juice, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix together until a dough forms.
- On a clean, flat surface, transfer the dough to it and form a round of the dough to about a 10×10 inch disc. Cut the dough into six equal pieces. If the dough seems a bit sticky before cutting, add about a ¼-½ cup more of more flour to the dough.
