Whenever I have a cold or need a boost to my immune system, my go-to tea of choice is garlic tea. Garlic tea is not only flavorful but also packed with essential nutrients.

  • Optional: tbsp Honey – for sweetness

How to Make Garlic Tea

Making garlic tea at home is simple and requires just a few ingredients. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you prepare your own garlic tea:

  1. Peel 4-5 cloves of fresh garlic. Slice them into smaller pieces or crush them using a garlic press or the back of a knife.
  2. Put 2 cups of water to boil in a saucepan.

  1. Add the freshly cut garlic to the saucepan to boil. Boil for 5 minutes, then turn off the stove.
  2. Let the garlic steep for a few minutes. The longer it steeps, the stronger the tea will be.
  3. After steeping, strain the garlic tea into a cup to remove the garlic solids. You can also opt to keep some of the cloves, which is what I did.
  4. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey to your garlic tea for a tangy and sweet flavor.

What is the best time to drink garlic tea?

Anytime is a good time to drink garlic tea. If you feel a flu-like symptom coming on, it’s usually a good time, but in all honesty, I drink it as a daily tea as I feel it’s quite detoxifying.

How long should garlic be boiled for tea?

Five minutes should be enough to boil the garlic for this tea. But if you want it even more potent, boil for a bit longer, up to 10 minutes.
