How to Make French Green Clay Soap
I’ve always loved making homemade soap—it feels so much more personal and nourishing than anything store-bought. When I first heard about French green clay, I knew I had to give it a try in one of my soap recipes. If you’ve never used it before, you’re in for a treat. French green clay is well-loved in natural skincare because it gently draws out impurities, balances oily skin, and leaves your skin feeling refreshed without being harsh.
Cut up the soap base into small chunks.
Melt slowly in a glass jar in the microwave in 30-second intervals.
Once completely melted, add in the French green clay. You can add it as is, or mix it with Isopropyl Alcohol to help it distribute evenly throughout the soap base.
Then, add in your essential oils. This is optional.
Pour the mixture into the soap mold and leave it for a few hours or until it has fully hardened.
And that's it. You can now use your soap as desired.
