How To Make Chamomile Salve

Soothe your skin with this gentle, homemade chamomile salve. Packed with natural ingredients, it’s perfect for calming irritation and nourishing your skin.
Servings 2 oz tins

Ingredients

For Infused Oil:

  • ½ cup chamomile  (dry chamomile)
  • 1 cup avocado oil (You can use any carrier oil of your choice but we prefer avocado oil)
  • Parchment paper

For Salve:

  • ½ to 1 tbsp beeswax pellets
  • cup chamomile oil infused
  • 7 to 10 drops chamomile essential oil
  • 2 oz containers

Instructions

  • Add the chamomile to a glass jar, making it about halfway full.  Then, add the avocado oil to fully cover the chamomile.
  • Cover the jar with a lid and parchment paper and keep it in a dark spot for a few weeks, shaking occasionally. You can find a full guide on how to make and use chamomile infused oil here.
  • After the infusion period, strain the oil.
  • Melt the beeswax pellets and the infused oil in a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl set over a pot of simmering water until completely melted. You can also melt them slowly in the microwave at small intervals.
  • Add in your drops of essential oils and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the mixture into tins and let cool for a few hours.
