How To Make Chamomile Salve
Soothe your skin with this gentle, homemade chamomile salve. Packed with natural ingredients, it’s perfect for calming irritation and nourishing your skin.
For Infused Oil:
- ½ cup chamomile (dry chamomile)
- 1 cup avocado oil (You can use any carrier oil of your choice but we prefer avocado oil)
- Parchment paper
For Salve:
- ½ to 1 tbsp beeswax pellets
- ⅓ cup chamomile oil infused
- 7 to 10 drops chamomile essential oil
- 2 oz containers
Add the chamomile to a glass jar, making it about halfway full. Then, add the avocado oil to fully cover the chamomile.
Cover the jar with a lid and parchment paper and keep it in a dark spot for a few weeks, shaking occasionally. You can find a full guide on how to make and use chamomile infused oil here.
After the infusion period, strain the oil.
Melt the beeswax pellets and the infused oil in a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl set over a pot of simmering water until completely melted. You can also melt them slowly in the microwave at small intervals.
Add in your drops of essential oils and mix thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into tins and let cool for a few hours.
