Easter M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • cup  granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ cup Easter M&M’s
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. This ensures that your cookies bake evenly to perfection.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, room temperature egg, vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Mix the ingredients until you have a smooth and well-incorporated cookie dough.
  • Take the cookie dough and form 1 ½ inch-sized balls. Place these on a baking sheet, leaving enough space between each ball for the cookies to spread as they bake.
  • Now, add a generous amount of Easter M&M’s to the top of each cookie ball. This not only adds a festive touch but also a burst of color and chocolatey goodness.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies turn a light golden color. Keep a close eye on them to avoid over-baking, as the perfect cookie is soft and chewy on the inside.
  • Once baked, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This step ensures that the cookies are set properly and have the ideal texture.
