rose vinegar in mason jar

Rose Petal Vinegar

This guide will show you how to turn delicate rose petals into flavorful and versatile vinegar, taking you from the garden to the kitchen.

Equipment

  • Pot (for use on the stove)
  • Mason Jar

Ingredients

  • Dried Rose Petals Select roses that are organically grown. Avoid roses treated with pesticides or other chemicals, as these can affect the quality of your vinegar. Use freshly picked roses for the best results if you have a rose garden.
  • Distilled Vinegar

Instructions

  • Before using the petals, rinse them under cold water to remove any dirt or insects. Pat them dry with a clean or paper towel, not crushing or bruising the delicate petals.
  • Fill the large mason jar about half full with the dried rose petals.
  • Fill the entire mason jar with distilled vinegar.
  • You can put the top of the Mason jar and let the vinegar sit in the sunlight for 2-4 weeks. This will help infuse the vinegar with the rose petals. The longer you steep the petals, the more vibrant the color will be.
  • Optional Step – If you want to speed up the process, pour the vinegar/ rose petal mixture into a pot on the stove on low heat for about 20-30 minutes. This will speed up the infusion process. Let it completely cool before adding it back to a mason jar or a glass spray bottle.
