How to Make Dried Orange Slices
This guides you through the simple process of dehydrating orange slices, offering a versatile snack that doubles as a decorative garnish.
Air fryer or Oven
Wire cooling rack
Cutting Board
Knife
Parchment Paper
Start by slicing your orange into thin pieces, using a sharp knife for precision.
Lightly pat dry the orange slices with a clean towel or paper towel to help remove some of the juice.
Line the base of the air fryer with parchment paper.
Arrange the orange slices on top of parchment paper, making sure they’re spread out evenly and not overlapping. It’s important to give them space to allow for proper airflow.
Set your air fryer to 180°F and let the orange slices cook for about an hour and a half. Remember to flip them over every 30 minutes to ensure even drying.
Once they’re done, transfer the dried orange slices to a wire cooling rack or a baking tray to cool completely. Let them cool for about 10-15 minutes. Once they are cool, they will feel hard and firm to the touch and no longer sticky.
