Every week, real homesteaders like you submit the coops, gardens, pantries, and DIY builds they’re proud of. Selected submissions get featured on the site, shared across our social channels, and credited back to you.

Submission Guidelines
A few simple standards keep our features high-quality and useful for the whole community.
- Project is your own original work (or you have permission to share it)
- At least 3–5 clear, well-lit photos (horizontal orientation preferred)
- A brief description of what you built and why
- A basic materials list and rough cost, if known
- Step-by-step notes on how you did it (doesn’t need to be polished)
- You’re comfortable being credited by name and/or social handle

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get paid for a featured project?
Submissions are unpaid, but featured projects get a full credit, a link back to your blog or social profile, and exposure to our community of homesteaders.
How long until I hear back?
We review submissions in the order they’re received and typically respond within 2–3 weeks. If your project is selected, we’ll follow up by email before anything is published.
Can I submit more than one project?
Absolutely. Submit a separate form for each project so we can review them individually.
What if my photos aren’t professional quality?
That’s completely fine — real, in-progress, and “lived-in” photos are welcome. Just make sure they’re in focus and well-lit.
Who owns the rights to my photos once submitted?
You keep full ownership of your photos and content. By submitting, you’re simply granting Homestead How-To permission to publish and share them with credit to you.
My project isn’t finished yet — can I still submit?
We prefer completed projects so readers can see the full process and result, but reach out to us directly at admin@homesteadhow-to.com if you’d like to share a work-in-progress.
